$23 Million Lottery Winner Forgot She Had Winning Ticket

A woman in California nearly missed out on $23 million because she forgot that she had purchased a winning lottery ticket.

The Palmdale woman apparently left her ticket, which she purchased last May, in her car and never checked if it had won.

According to the Huffington Post, the woman may have missed out on her chance to claim the $23 million prize if it wasn’t for a photograph published in a local newspaper. The woman’s daughter saw the photo, which was taken from a security camera at the liquor store, and asked her mother if she may have misplaced her winning $23 million ticket.

Family 'Blessed' By $90 Million Lottery Jackpot

Mary and Brian Lohse of Bondurant sat their three children down last week and explained their lives were going to change.

The Powerball ticket Mary Lohse bought last month while filling up at a local Casey’s General Store had come up a $202.1 million winner. The couple told their kids — ages 15, 11 and 8 — they would have more money, but they didn’t want it to undermine their values.

“Basically, they’re going to get a lot more dates, which was important to the 15-year-old,” Brian Lohse said. “But don’t change the way we’ve raised you. You’re still the same person. You still have the same values. Obviously, things are going to change.”

Willie McPherson And Christopher Manzi Win Mega Millions Jackpot After Playing Together For 25 Years

It took persistence, but 25 years of effort paid off big time for two old friends in New York.

Willie McPherson, 74, and Christopher Manzi, 44, won a $14 million jackpot last month playing the Mega Millions lottery, according to the New York Post. The two had been buying lottery tickets together for a quarter of a century after becoming friends while working at Manzi’s print shop in Manhattan.

Despite having spent a sizable amount of cash on their lottery habit over the years, neither McPherson nor Manzi shelled out a dime for the winning ticket. As part of a lottery promotion, they received two Quick Picks for free.

We won $14 million on a free play ticket,” McPherson told to the New York Daily News. “[It feels] beautiful.”

£148m lottery winner who returned to work within weeks of scooping jackpot finally splashes out... on a £17,000 Ford Kuga

When he won the £148million jackpot, his wife admitted she craved a £60,000 Audi Q7. It was a modest ambition for their new car - but it turns out the couple have decided to shell out even less.

Music shop owner Adrian Bayford, 41, of Haverhill, Suffolk, who won the staggering jackpot with his wife Gillian, 40, in August, has spent just £17,000 of his vast fortune on a white 4x4 Ford Kuga.

Their winnings could have bought them almost 9,000 Kugas, but it is another sign of the Bayfords continuing their down-to-earth approach after they became the 516th richest people in Britain.

Norwegian Family Wins Lotto Three Times

Each time the 29-year old petrol station attendant from tiny Austevoll island off Norway’s west coast gives birth, someone in her family wins the national lottery.

Oksnes, who serves hot dogs at a petrol station, gave birth to her first child in 2006 just one day after her father Leif won 4.2 million crowns on the national lottery.

Three years later, Oksnes herself won, claiming 8.2 million crowns one day before giving birth to her second child.

To complete the hat-trick, Oksnes’ 18-year-old brother Tord won the very same lottery this weekend, just months after she gave birth to her third child.

Winner of $337 million Powerball jackpot revealed in Michigan

The winner of the $337 million Powerball jackpot earlier this month has been revealed: Donald Lawson, 44, of Lapeer, Mich., was introduced Friday by Michigan lottery officials.

Lawson said at a press conference in Lansing, Mich., that he had been a railroad engineer before quitting a couple of weeks ago after he had discovered he had won. Lawson, who said he has two daughters, was joined at the announcement by his mother, sister and brother-in-law.

“I started reading backwards, and lost my breath,” Lawson said. The winning numbers were 6, 27, 46, 51, 56 and Powerball 21.

Lawson said that after checking his ticket he “sat there and said a prayer, then called my sister and told her to come home right now … then I told them.”

Man claims $52M lotto jackpot after recognizing self in surveillance photo

A California man has come forward to claim a $52 million Mega Millions jackpot. He had been rich for a month and didn’t know it!

Bladimir Agnite and his wife Marita claimed their jackpot after the husband saw himself in the news. That’s because for the first time ever, California Lottery officials released pictures outing a winner before the ticket was claimed.

Officials said they released the video because they wanted Agnite to claim his winnings.

Agnite realized he was a millionaire when he got on his computer to check the lottery’s unclaimed winning tickets, and saw a surveillance photo of himself.
